Use Your Senses To Make Your Denver Home More Peaceful This Winter

Updated: Mar 6, 2023

As we shift into winter around Denver, you may be seeking for more ways to relax and unwind in your home. Creating a peaceful home can translate into energy saved and stress relieved.- Especially through the holiday season, which may be a stressful and emotional time for many.

When things in your world are out of our control, one thing you can control is your home environment. There are many simple changes you can make to instill some much needed peace into your living space, let's focus on our senses: In order to create a peaceful environment in the home, make sure everything you see, smell, hear, and touch gives you a calm feeling inside.

Outta sight, outta mind! Clutter is energy draining and stress inducing. Declutter and organize each room at least once a week to keep a zen-like state of mind.

Aromatherapy- Make it smell wonderful! Candles and air fresheners work well, but if you want to give your home a truly soothing scent, consider an essential oil diffuser. There is a huge variety of essential oils, but hints of lemon, peppermint, or sandalwood can really help introduce a sense of calm in your home.

Play music you love- Add soothing sounds into your home atmosphere, find a good speaker system to play smooth jazz or natural sounds as you work or relax at home. Or, if you prefer silence, consider soundproofing a room to cancel out outside noise.

consider adding a plush blanket to your couch or bed to settle down with in the evenings or add a soft rug to hug your toes as you walk around!

During this winter season, focus some of your time and energy into creating an inspiring place to wake up to a soothing place to come home to, and a relaxing place to live. Because most of our days begin and end at home, having a peaceful home as your base can help you begin each day feeling more grounded and calm.
